The murder of George Floyd is deeply affecting our community and our country. The focus has rightfully been on demanding justice, real policy change and expressing the collective rage at decades of inequity, violence, racism and anger perpetrated against the African American community. There is another side. Those who videotaped and documented the killing of George Floyd are under incredible and undeserved stress. From receiving death threats from white supremacists to the inevitable PTSD of seeing an 8-minute, callous, calculated murder before their eyes. They are hurting and suffering. And everyday that the protests and riots continue, they are reliving that moment. We need to surround them with counseling and healing resources. We need to stand up for them the way they stood up for us by sharing the video. As a community, we must take care of each other and help them heal, please donate today. Funds will go towards counseling, and anything they need for day to day survival so that they can feel safe. Click below to donate. For those with questions call us, we are always transparent with how funds are spent.
We have several ways to donate:
Paypal: Couplesconnectingcommunity@gmail.com or paypal.me/couplesconncommunity
To bring Couples of Color together to celebrate and build healthy and successful families and relationships, while growing and nurturing a community of healthy families with like-minded people.
To authentically know unity, trust, love and enriching relationships? Creating our own places at the table, together. It means celebrating our diversity, our love, our families, our community, our trials, our accomplishments, our strengths and most importantly, each other.
We marched together as couples of color in unity representing love and marriage. At the end of the march we enjoyed entertainment, vendors, food, empowerment and conversation!
With the support of our community and our partners Order of Ronin we were able to raise around $3000. With those funds we gave about roughly 100 coats, hats and gloves to kids in need. Along with candy filled bags!
Couples Connecting Community and our partner Barbershops for Change hosted a Brooklyn Park Kwanzaa Celebration POTLUCK, to celebrate the African American community and our culture!
Your generous donation will fund our mission, and will support events such as the Covid 19 Relief Fund as well as programming that works with POC families to help them celebrate and appreciate their strengths! Feel free to donate below or by CashApp: $CouplesConnectingCom
